Singing For The Stars is one of the best vocal technique books we have. We often refer back to it when brushing up our skills or giving singing advice to our friends. Singing For The Stars consists of a book (about 100 pages) and two CD’s. The first part of the book covers the basics of the Speech Level Singing Method and the second part acts as a workbook for working through the 30 exercises contained on the CDs.
Singing For The Stars was created by Seth Riggs–the founder of the Speech Level Singing Method and vocal coach for many famous singers including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bette Midler
The program provided in Singing For The Stars is powerful, but, like any method, takes time to work through. The exercises aren’t always easy, but if you stick with them, you’ll suddenly find yourself staying connected through your passages and having much better control. There are other books and programs available today that, from our perspective, approach singing instruction from the Speech Level Singing mindset. Some of the other methods may be more suitable to your learning style (for example, online singing lessons or video-based lessons), but if an old-fashioned workbook and solid exercises on CD (not to mention an affordable price) work for you, then definitely check it out over at Amazon.
